2005-2006 Season Schedule:

More dates may be added at a later time. (Free child care is available at all coffeehouses)

Celebration of the Russell's Service

November 11 @ 7:00 p.m.

Come join us in celebrating 30 years of dedicated Christian service!

A special open house has been planned to celebrate 30 years of dedicated Christian service to the church and community. Bill and Dee Russell have brought the Gospel and message of Christ to so many. They truly have been servants and disciples – working tirelessly without “earthly” pay.

As many of you know, the Russells have dedicated their lives to serving others and we would like to take the opportunity to thank them and to celebrate their lives and legacy.

What they have shared and continue to share lives on. God has truly used to them to bless others and to show His love.

Won’t you please join us in this celebration by attending this special Open House?

We will also be putting together a prayer quilt. Each person in attendance will have the opportunity to print his or her hand on a quilt and write a scripture, memory, prayer, thank you or quote inside. Think about what you might want to share. If you can’t attend but would like to send a card or note, please address it to Bill and Dee Russell’s Open House, c/o Marshall United Methodist Church, 14711 N Old US 27, Marshall, MI 49068.
Questions? Help? Contact Sue Rosko at (269) 781-4707 roskos4@yahoo.com or
the church office.

HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!

SEEDS

November 11 @ 7:00 p.m.

Admission: TBA

Seeds has a very eclectic sound. It reminds me of the early seventies (as
does the members's dress and the artwork of the album). Whenever I pop this
in, I get flashbacks of flower children in Haight-Ashbury, Janis Joplin live,
Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Jefferson Airplane acoustic sets, and Keith Green
music ministries. The overall sound is very retro and very cool. It is mellow,
relaxing, and soothing. The vocals wash over and bring a sense of peace. The
music itself varies from light acoustic a la Caedmon's Call to psychedelic.
The flute, autoharp, lap dulcimer, mandolin, and sitar (all very 70ish in their
use), really spice up the sound and give it a nice tang. Since the retro 70's
sound is really making a big comeback, Seeds will be a welcome addition to
our coffeehouse.

Glen Kaiser Band

December 10 @ 7:00 p.m.

Admission: TBA

A veteran of Christian music for more than twenty-five
years, Glenn Kaiser is best known as the man responsible for the classic
hard-rocking Resurrection Band, not to mention several solo blues projects.
Those familiar at all with Glenn Kaiser know he serves as one of the pastors
at Jesus People USA (JPUSA), an inner-city Christian community in Chicago.
Glenn's been a respected Christian artist for some 30 years now, so it's
no surprise that he also has a heart for worship. Thousands of people probably
are most familiar with him as the worship leader on Sunday mornings at the
annual Cornerstone Festival in Bushnell, Illinois, or as an artist who's
released two previous praise projects, All My Days and Throw Down Your Crowns.

Blues Jam 2006 and Chili Cook-Off

January 28 @ 7:00

Admission: Donation Only

Featuring some of the best Christian Blues players in southern Michigan, acoustic to electric! If you’re not a player bring your favorite chili for a chance to win the coveted wooden spoon for the best chili! If all else fails just come and listen to some great blues, eat some fantastic chili and help us raise money for The Haven (Homeless Shelter in Battle Creek.)

For information about playing call (269) 781-6848.

The Emberlight

(with our own Andy Rosko)

Along with other Special Guest Bands

April 29 @ 7:30pm

Admission: Donations at Door

The Emberlight is a high energy Christian rock band with layer of pop sensibility and a passion for today's youth. With driven guitars, interesting chord progressions, woven melodies and countermelodies and a pop sensibility, the music is a holiday for your ears. Stylistically, the writing draws influence from American rockers Foo Fighters, Switchfoot, pop rockers Weezer, Fall Out Boy, All American Rejects and the intelligence of Relient K.

For more information call Bill & Dee at (269) 781-6848 or the church office at (269) 781-5107.
